Respawn was a medical technique developed by the Bird race during the interstellar Bird-Cat War. A respawn disassembles a person on a subatomic level at the point of death and rematerialises them, at full health, in a different position to confuse the enemy. There is currently a respawn device operating in Little Butts, North Carolina, however it is ancient and malfunctioning, hence the occasional ghosts. Non-birds have shown skill with this ability as well, such as Billy Acachalla, and can be considered a way to come Back from the Dead.
