PIE High: Year One is the first book in the PIE High series of prequel stories set before the PIE videos from the VenturianTale YouTube channel. It is currently in development and set to be released in 2017.

The four boys stood in the middle of the open field. One, the tallest of the group, motioned towards a dark cave a few meters away, its shadowy mouth beckoning to the foursome.
“Go on in,” he sneered, crossing his arms. “Unless you’re scared.”
The boy in question, a shorter, brown-haired one, shook his head. “I’m not scared. It’s just that…well, we don’t know what’s down there.”
“Why don’t you go and see, then?”
“Why should I? Why don’t you?”
The first boy frowned at the other. “’Cause I know nothing’s down there. You’re the one that’s so curious.”
The second stepped back. “What? You’re the one who is wanting to figure out what’s in the Wailing Caverns! I never wanted to go in that place!”
Again, a sneer appeared across the first kid’s face. “Wait until your girlfriend finds out about this. She’ll be ecstatic to hear she’s got a coward for a lover.”
The other boy was beginning to fume in anger. “I’ve told you already. She’s not my girlfriend. We’re just…friends.”
The first one rolled his eyes. “Whatever you say. She’s still gonna hear about it either way.” He winked to his two companions, who began to grin wickedly. The other boy finally gulped and took a step towards the dark crevice leading into the blackness of the cave.
“It’s time to make your choice, Ghost,” the first boy yelled out as the wind began to pick up, howling loudly. Leaves blew across the field, crinkling as they crashed into the ground. “Time to carry on your old man’s legacy—unless you’re too scared to.”
Johnny Ghost gulped as he finally stepped closer, fists clenched. With a curse to himself in the back of his mind, the teenage boy made his first step into the world of the paranormal…changing his life forever.
