Matt McFarland is an American composer of royalty-free music, often published under his stage name McFarland Beats . One particular piece by McFarland, 'Strangled', has been the VenturianTale theme since 2013, with exceptions including the Tale series of videos. McFarland's SoundCloud reflects this, as the track on SoundCloud is tagged with VenturianTale, the only time so far this has happened.
McFarland has never received royalties for the use of his songs on VenturianTale videos, as he only composes Royalty free music. As of 2016, he no longer composes music, instead working in programming.
