Martin Septim was the son of Emperor Uriel Septim and his heir to the throne, hence rightfully being the next Emperor. He lived at Cloud Ruler Temple under the watchful eyes of the Blades, the guards of the Emperors.

Biography[]

The next emperor[]

Martin Septim was born to Uriel Septim, Emperor of Tamriel. Uriel kept his son hidden away, and only a few people knew of his existence. When assassins began to kill all of Septim's sons and began to close in on the Emperor himself, Uriel told the pirate Asylum Weaver to go and find his hidden son and make sure he took the throne rightfully. Asylum agreed and went to Kvatch to find Martin.

After meeting with an old friend of Uriel - and one of the few to know that Martin was Uriel's son - named Jauffre, Asylum went to Kvatch and helped liberate the city, finding Martin and other citizens hiding in a chapel with numerous guards. Asylum informed Martin of his true lineage, which the priest took with some shock. After Asylum and his companions liberated Kvatch, they took Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple to live under the watchful eyes of the Blades, the guards of Uriel and, now, Martin.

The daedric cult[]

Martin, for some reason, attracted hate from Sari, one of Asylum's companions, who continuously tried to murder the young emperor. Usually when Asylum went to Cloud Ruler Temple to visit Martin, he had to leave Sari outside so she would not stir up trouble.

Trivia[]

  • Jordan Frye refers to Martin Septim numerous times as Boromir, a character from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, because Martin is voiced by Sean Bean, who portrays Boromir in The Lord of the Rings films.
    • Likewise, Jordan later states that Martin will most likely die, as nearly all of Sean Bean's characters in television shows and films have, a fate that has in fact fallen on Martin.
